Located in the serene and pristine greens of Palakol in the heart of the town, the college has a good academic ambience coupled with committed faculty. The college has completed 38 years of its existence. Having earned reputation as one of the best quality institutes in the district the college immensely contributes towards educating and empowering women for their overall development and aims at fostering a community in which women have greater access to engage in a variety of avenues. The college ensures a solid support system in place which helps young women find their voices, grow as individuals, push boundaries and succeed personally and professionally.

The performance of the college stands out for its distinctiveness in the following areas 

  1. ■ The college has small classes with a strong focus on faculty – student relationships.  Being a small college offering only UG Courses, there is a strong mentoring system in place for students with more direct guidance, individual attention and increased student participation.
  2. ■ Provides opportunity to the individual student for self- paced learning through technology enhanced learning. The faculty promote creative learning among students by employing effective teaching strategies through digital classroom.
  3. ■ DNR is the only Government women’s college in the district which has an indoor stadium. Regional level, district level and university level shuttle badminton and Table Tennis tournaments are hosted by the department of physical Education under the able guidance of the Physical Director.
  4. ■ DNR GDC(W) has a college based LEO club sponsored by LIONS Club, Palakol. Run by the students of the college, it was established in 2017with an objective of inculcating community service as well as institution leadership skills in the girl students. Various service programmes including  Blood donation camps, health checkup camps,

awareness rallies have been organized by LEO club in coordination with JCI,Palakol and LIONS club,Palakol.   Academic and cultural competitions on various occasions have been conducted by LEO club in coordination with LIONS Club at college level as well as community level. The LEOs are encouraged to inculcate sense of social responsibility and empathy by participating in extensive activities related to literacy health care, sanitation, environmental protection, plantation etc.

  1. ■ The college has a vibrant Eco club which initiates environmental consciousness in the young students by organizing awareness workshops, rallies and competitions. The college campus is environment friendly and plastic free. Offering bouquets made from college garden by students to the guests is one of the best ecofriendly practices of the college.

The vision, mission and objectives of the institution clearly points towards a value based education combining with ICT enabled instruction. The motto of the college is “AIM HIGH” for which we continuously work to revamp infra-structure and improve teaching and learning in terms of faculty and student achievement. Although institutional performance in many areas is distinctive to its vision of many areas our major focus is on women empowerment through quality education and holistic learning. All our efforts are directed towards bringing the girl students of marginalised sections into the main stream of higher education. The Women empowerment cell in coordination with NSS unit plans extracurricular and extension activities and ensures active participation of students. In an attempt to build self confidence in the students inspiring women achievements are invited as resource persons who could help them know their potentialities health check up camps are organized with a view to identify health issues and provide medical aid. Department of Physical Education motivates the students to participate shuttle badminton, chess &Kabaddi tournaments. Students are encouraged to utilize gym facility in order to stay fit. Legal awareness programmes are organized to create awareness among the women students about women protection laws and women rights.LEO club of the college inculcates leadership qualities through community service programmes.
